Yasuke
Kölsch
Brockton Beer Company
Yasuke was a real-life Black samurai—the first foreign-born man to achieve the rank of samurai warrior. Much about his life remains a mystery, inspiring us to craft a beer that honors tradition while embracing the unexpected. We chose to reinterpret the classic Kölsch, a hybrid ale-lager style from Cologne, Germany. Unlike its golden counterpart, this beer pours black with a tan head. It’s delicate on the palate, with a dry, crisp finish, low bitterness, and subtle roastiness. At 4.5% ABV, it’s highly drinkable—worthy of the legend’s name
